Yesterday was Taco TWOsday! 🌮🌮
Our Bornean orangutan care team served up a delicious ‘taco’ bar to celebrate baby Udara’s 2nd birthday (bravo to Nashville Zoo for the original excelente theme/enrichment idea)!
Udara (along with the rest of the Bornean orangutan troop) enjoyed tacos of romaine lettuce, tomato, and onion. And what treetop taco bar would be complete without ‘margaritas’? 🍸 The orangutan-approved beverage contained watered down lemonade, with biscuit powder as a ‘salted’ rim!
Thank you to all the guests that attended, and to everyone that helped make Udara’s second birthday a special one! 🌮🦧

We LOVE our field trippers, school groups, and large group visitors and can't wait to welcome you to the zoo using our South Entrance near Helen Hocker Theatre! Our main entrance is too tight for buses, so come join the fun at this end of the zoo! 🚌 🚌 🚌
This Saturday is loaded with all sorts of great events at the zoo, one if which is Endangered Species Day! Visit with our docents and enjoy fun activities to help you learn all about endangered species and our efforts to help them!
Imagine your final college project being a literal Zoo! 🎓🦒
We wanted to highlight 24 students from the Strategic Campaigns class at KU William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications for completing their Capstone project! Students were broken up into 4 ‘company’ groups, and asked to composite marketing material in the form of annual reports, social/digital media, merchandising, and web designs.
These students touched our hearts and ignited inspiration as they showed true dedication in their projects. They interviewed various staff members, visited the Zoo multiple times a week during the semester, and gave fantastic presentations to showcase their work. We were truly blown away by the content they have provided, and can’t wait to put it to use!
