In case you haven't heard - we've been unveiling The Washed Ashore Project's arrival to Topeka throughout the week, located at 5 different Topeka attractions (including the Zoo!). These magnificent works of art are made completely out of discarded materials that washed up on shorelines and were collected by volunteers. This nationally-renowned traveling exhibit carries a strong message that what we throw away, never really goes away.
We still have two more unveilings to go - catch us tomorrow at the Topeka & Shawnee Co. Public Library for their exhibit unveiling at 2 pm. 🐠

Washed Ashore is a nationally renowned traveling exhibit, created to make an impact. Each year, more than 11 million tons of plastic flows into the Ocean carried by rivers, wind, and runoff water. These works of art are a beautiful, yet harsh, reminder that each choice we make can make a difference.
This breathtaking, immersive experience was created using pieces and inspiration from The Washed Ashore Project traveling exhibition. This nationally renowned exhibit features art that was built entirely from ocean debris collected from shorelines by volunteers.
Next to unveil their Washed Ashore Art is Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, tomorrow (5/20) at 8:30 am! Stay tuned to learn more. 🪸

Join us and the NOTO Arts & Entertainment District as we unveil an immersive experience perfect for the summer - the NOTO Arts Center has been completely transformed into a space with jellyfish blooms and underwater vibes. 🪸
This display, commissioned by the Rotary Club of Topeka, carries a heavy message - what we discard as trash, no matter where we live, can end up in the Ocean and affect wildlife.
