Say hello to 11-year-old Bria (pronounced BREE- AH) and her two 4-year-old daughters, Cheka (CHECK-AH) and Kuishi (KWI-SHI). The Zoo is thrilled to share that the trio are now viewable at Camp Cowabunga, in the space next to the African lions. The three recently arrived from Nebraska and have been settling in well.
Staff at the Topeka Zoo feel incredibly lucky to welcome the new cheetah girls to the Zoo family as the girls have a very special background story – Bria is the only cheetah recorded to have successfully accepted her cubs after being reunited from a c-section, which was possible through a lot of hard work and dedication from cheetah husbandry professionals participating in the Cheetah Species Survival Plan (SSP). Cheka and Kuishi are the results of very diligent care, and the Topeka Zoo is honored to have been selected by the Cheetah SSP to house the family.
🐆 The Zoo is delighted for visitors to get to see the new trio and share their exciting story. Staff kindly ask that visitors do their best to remain quiet, not pound or tap on glass, and allow the girls to continue to adjust to their new space.

The Topeka Zoo will close early at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 5, for Boots & Bowties. Last admission will be at 12:30 p.m.
The zoo will reopen with normal hours at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 6.
