Accountant - The Accountant supports the organization’s mission by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining the fiscal health of the zoo. This role provides essential internal financial knowledge and contributes directly to the organization’s operational success by preparing, maintaining, and reconciling financial records. Responsibilities include processing and recording daily financial transactions such as cash receipts, deposits, accounts payable and receivable, and journal entries; maintaining accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation; reconciling daily cash activity, bank accounts, credit card transactions, and point-of-sale systems; assisting the CFO with monitoring and verifying revenue from ticket sales, memberships, gift shop operations, concessions, donations, and programs; supporting payroll processing and related reconciliations as assigned; and ensuring all accounting entries are completed accurately and in a timely manner.  Please send resumes/cover letters to smiles@topekazoo.org

Guest Engagement Team Member- This position plays a vital role in ensuring that guests receive exceptional service during their time at the zoo. By facilitating positive interactions at point-of-sale locations, guiding guests through enriching experiences, and maintaining the cleanliness of the zoo, you create lasting memories for visitors. You enhance the guest experience through engaging conversations, sharing knowledge about zoo programs and events, and helping guests find perfect souvenirs. Facilities Director - This position supports the organization by overseeing the comprehensive management of zoo facilities, grounds, and support services. You will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and overall functionality of the zoo’s physical spaces, both for the animals and the public. As a strategic leader, you are responsible for managing the Maintenance, Environmental Services (EVS), and Horticulture with a focus on delivering high-quality guest experiences and maintaining a safe, secure, and engaging environment. Seasonal Exhibits Manager - The Seasonal Exhibits Manager serves as a working supervisor responsible for leading the planning, installation, maintenance, and deinstallation of the annual Zoo Lights event while coordinating seasonal exhibits throughout the year. This role oversees display design and fabrication, lighting and technology integration, inventory management, and the safe storage of equipment and supplies. The position ensures zoo grounds remain safe, accessible, and visually engaging while delivering high-quality guest experiences that support visitation, community engagement, and the zoo's mission. Salary is up to $58K annually.
