Your experience begins with walking beneath a waterfall. This cascade, which serves as nature’s filter to produce pristine water, feeds into a wetland. A winding stream spills into a pond inhabited by North American freshwater mussels, as well as fish, amphibians and turtles native to the Kansas region. We are thrilled to display our support for conservation through the AZA SAFE mussel program, actively cultivating mussels for future release initiatives.
Stroll along the viewing deck before venturing into Penguin Plaza and experience the lively habitat of our Humboldt penguins. You’ll be able to observe these penguins up close as they dive and splash around you, engaging your senses. Children can climb stairs and slide down a clear tube to immerse themselves in the penguin’s aquatic environment.
