Pine Tree Recycling

Give your Christmas tree a second life!

From December 26th through January 8th, the Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center is accepting clean, live Christmas trees to use as enrichment for many of our animals, including lions, tigers, giraffes, black bears, owls, and more. After the animals enjoy them, the trees will be chipped into mulch for continued reuse.

Drop-off Location:
Inside Gage Park, just east of the horseshoe court parking lot on the southeast side of the park. When entering Gage Park from the 10th Street entrance, take the first right onto Munn Memorial Drive and look for the orange snow fence near the horseshoe courts. Simply place your tree in the grass area. No appointment needed.

Tree Requirements:
To keep our animals safe, trees must be:
• Free of ornaments, hooks, tinsel, and stands
• Not bagged or wrapped in plastic
• Natural/live trees only (no artificial trees)

Thank you for helping create enrichment opportunities for our animals and supporting sustainability at your Topeka Zoo!
