Kay McFarland Japanese Garden and Venue
The Kay McFarland Japanese Garden features traditional Koi ponds, bridges, lush landscapes, and exquisite architectural elements. The contemporary event center provides modern amenities and seats over 200 people at round tables. The dedicated bridal suite opens to a secluded garden, promoting peace and relaxation. Overlooking the largest pond, an open-air pavilion offers a gorgeous ceremony location or overflow seating.
Camp Cowabunga and Dung Beetle Square
Journey into Africa: Camp Cowabunga is a Safari-themed exhibit, home to our African lions, painted dogs, and patas monkeys. This unique space seats 152 people at round tables.
In the heart of Camp Cowabunga is Dung Beetle Square. This spacious outdoor venue is ideal for a grand reception and ceremony.
Security Benefit Pavilion
Overlooking the Giraffe habitat, our open-air pavilion is ideal for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The Security Benefit Pavilion is 3,000 square feet and can seat 200 guests.
The Northern Lawn
The Northern Lawn is lush grassland. Sitting on the shores of one of Topeka Zoo’s iconic ponds, the lawn provides endless possibilities for any ceremony or reception. Seat up to 350 people in this outdoor space.
Gary K. Clarke Education Center
The Gary K. Clarke Education Center can accommodate up to 75 people, includes restroom facilities, tables, chairs and has an optional screen/projector and sound system.
After Hours Rentals
The Gary K. Clarke Education Center is available for after-hours events (after the zoo closes at 5 p.m.). After-hours rental does not include admission for guests to tour the Zoo grounds. Zoo tours and access to exhibits can be included for an additional fee.
