Lights Display

HME is a Steel Fabricator founded by Jon Haas in 1996 that provides structural steel to the construction industry. Having worked on a number of projects around the country, from Military bases to helping rebuilding Joplin High School after a tornado hit, they have helped us with our last two Capital projects. After seeing the amazing work that they have done for TARC on several of their displays, we reached out for their help fabricating steel framing for our Zoo Lights event! We started with drawing up a few sketches and sending those over to their marketing team, they were able to take those and create  workable files they could then utilize a plasma cutter to cut into  carbon steel plate and produce the outlines. They were able to take an idea and a few sketches and create these amazing pieces that will illuminate the night and bring joy to so many.

We then took these outlines and with the help from another amazing helper elf, Ernest-Spencer, were able to get them painted and wrapped with lights! We are so excited for our guests to view these amazing displays and show off the work of all those who have helped make this happen. Although the event itself is not open until the 27th of November, you can come walk around and see if you can catch glimpses of the work that has already been done.

"Topeka Zoo is a major attraction in our community, many of our employees and families visit the Zoo on a regular basis. We feel it is important to be a community partner and invest in the community where our employees live.  When businesses pull together to make their community a better place everyone wins."

- Robert Mohan, HME Chief Operations Officer

With out the help from people like HME and Ernest-Spencer, we would not be able to provide these types of events and help make Topeka a destination for many. They make it possible for families to have amazing activities to do during the holiday season.
