Polar Ice Cap Now Open!

The Polar Ice Cap is open for the season at the Topeka Zoo.  The Polar Ice Cap is open daily, Monday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.  Evening hours are available Thursday and Saturday from 5:30 to 8:00 through the end of December.  Daytime ice skating is FREE with zoo admission.  FOTZ members are free!  Evening skating is only $3.  If needed, ice skates can be rented for $2 per pair.

The Polar Ice Cap is a temporary, synthetic ice skating rink located under the Security Benefit Pavilion at the Topeka Zoo. It is a seasonal attraction running from November through February. Synthetic Ice is environmentally friendly requiring no refrigeration. This particular material is used by many NHL practice rinks as well as the travelling “Disney On Ice” shows.

The Polar Ice Cap can be reserved for private parties and events. For more information, please call 368-9143
