Scout Workshops

Scout workshops are available for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of all levels. We offer one-hour and two-hour options at the zoo, as well as an option for the zoo to come to you!

Here are some of the badges we can facilitate:

Girl Scouts

Daisy Workshops: 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals

Brownie Workshops: Wonders of Water Journey; Bugs Badge; Senses Badge

Junior Workshops: Animal Habitats Badge; Gardner Badge

Cadette Workshops: Night Owl Badge; Animal Helpers Badge; Trees Badge

Senior Workshops: Sow What Journey; Voice for Animals Badge

Ambassador Workshops: Water Badge

 

Boy Scouts

Nature Badge

Mammal Study Badge

Reptiles and Amphibians (Herps) Badge

Bird Study Badge

Environmental Science Badge

Insect Study Badge

 

Prices for all scout workshops:

  • 1-hour live animal education program at the zoo: $75 flat rate
  • 2-hour class at the zoo (1st hour is a live animal education program and 2nd hour hits on the requirements of the badge): $145 or $5/person (whichever is greater)
  • Zoo2U 1-hour live animal education program where the zoo comes to your location: $115 within City of Topeka limits (additional costs for gas outside of city limits)
  • $35 fee for night (after 5:00) or weekend programs
  • Zoo overnights are available for an additional cost.

Classes at the zoo do NOT include zoo admission. You have to pay admission if you’re planning on walking around the zoo on your own before/after the program. You do not have to pay admission if you are just coming for the education program and leaving.
