Progress in 2017

Exciting progress is happening! 2017 will be a year of change as the Topeka Zoo is about to embark on a new beginning. Camp Cowabunga will break ground in early 2017 with an opening in 2018. Camp Cowabunga – a safari sojourn in our own backyard – will be a transformative “travel” experience for all ages blending education, enrichment, and entertainment opportunities for all who visit the zoo. Thanks to a generous gift from the late Chief Justice Kay McFarland, the zoo will also soon break ground on Kay’s Garden and Event Center. The garden will be two acres in size and feature lush landscaping and three pools with Koi. An event center will also be built that will be the perfect setting for weddings, corporate meetings, and social functions. Learn more here.

So, please pardon our progress as construction may affect your visit to the Topeka Zoo. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make your Journey into the Wild even better!
